Recipe for Garbanzo Burgers or Chickpea Burgers
What You Need
  • 1 can drained chickpeas 19 ounce
  • 2 medium sliced carrots
  • 1 small coarsely chopped onion
  • ½ cup seasoned dry bread crumbs
  • 2 Tablespoons flour
  • 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
How to Make It
Using a food processor you will add the drained chickpeas, sliced carrots, coarsely chopped onion, seasoned dry bread crumbs, flour, and vegetable oil. Process these ingredients until the carrots are finely chopped and the chickpeas are fine and smooth.

Sprinkle some flour onto a clean, dry surface and then spoon the chickpea mixture into eight individual mounds on top of the prepared surface.

Press the mixture to form patties, while coating the chickpea mixture with enough flour to form patties that will hold together while cooking.

Using a medium size saucepan or skillet you on a medium to medium high temperature setting you will add the vegetable oil to heat. Add the chickpea burger patties to the skillet or saucepan and then cook until the patties are done. Be sure to cook one side and then turn only once to cook the other side until the patties are heated thoroughly and are golden brown in color.
