Baked Salmon Recipes

Salmon is one of the most delicious types of seafood and is a healthy addition to everyone's diet. It lacks the "fishy taste" that turns so many people off to other types of seafood and is a fantastic source of vitamin D, protein, and omega-3 fatty acids.

Salmon is great grilled, poached, and even raw as sashimi. But one of the quickest, easiest, and most delicious ways to cook salmon is baking. Here's some baked salmon recipes based on one "master recipe" that you can expand on.
Ingredients
Salmon fillets or steaks, any size
Salt and pepper
The Recipe
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
2. Line the inside of a baking dish with aluminum foil.
3. Rinse and dry the salmon.
4. Place salmon on lined baking dish and sprinkle salt and pepper on top.
5. Place dish in oven and bake for 10 - 15 minutes. Expect about 10 minutes cooking time per inch of thickness. Salmon is done when it is firm on the outside yet still tender on the inside.
The Variations
Here's a few ideas to easily make more delicious baked salmon recipes:
  • Add fresh or dried dill before baking. This herb tastes delicious on salmon.
  • Add lemon slices on top before baking or serve with lemon wedges. This is another great flavor enhancer.
  • Add butter or olive oil after cooking. Adding REAL fat (not the industrial and processed garbage) will make your meal all the more tasty.
  • Marinade the salmon the night before with a mixture of olive oil, lemon juice, white wine, and garlic. (Exact amounts don't matter for this marinade.)
Try any (or all) of these together and you will be able to ear salmon every week and still never get bored of it.
